How to Make the Chocolate Cake

This is truthfully a one bowl cake. The first step is to blend the sugar and coconut oil until combined. Then add in the applesauce, vanilla extract and blend those until combined. Then add in the milk and blend some more. Then blend in the eggs.

Add the remaining ingredients and blend until combined. Make sure not to over mix the batter. This is super important.

How to Make the Chocolate Frosting

First melt the butter over low heat. Then stir in the cocoa powder until smooth. Transfer this mixture to a large bowl and let it cool for a couple minutes.

Slowly blend in the milk until smooth and creamy. Then slowly blend in the powdered sugar. If the frosting is a little runny, add a little more powdered sugar.

NOTES:

* All gluten free flour blends are not created equally. I highly recommend using the Bob's Red Mill 1-1 gluten free flour blend. I have not tested other gluten free flours so I am not sure how they will work.
