Thank you to Cuisinart for sponsoring this blog post. All opinions are my own.

This miso glazed chicken recipe is so simple, and delicious ..two of my favorite things. Lately, I’ve really been into miso, it’s a super versatile ingredient. It’s savory, but people have been known to use it in baked goods as well. This recipe uses white miso paste for a really light flavor. Darker miso paste can be a little overwhelming to some, but it all comes down to personal preferences.

When I cooked this miso glazed chicken, the caramelization was incredible and I’m sure it was due to the sauté pan that I used.  What is Miso Paste?

Miso paste is a paste made from fermented soybeans. There’s white miso, yellow miso, and red miso. For this recipe, I used white miso. Each type of miso varies in flavor a bit. The darker the miso the heavier the flavor. I wanted to keep this sauce super light so I used white miso. It is also known as light miso as well.

How to Make Miso Glazed Chicken

This recipe is so simple, promise. First you dice the chicken breast into bite sized pieces, and then brown it in the saute pan While the chicken is cooking, mix the ingredients for the glaze. Seriously, throw all the ingredients in a bowl at once and mix them together.

Once the chicken is done browning, remove it from the pan. Add the sauce into the pan. Once it starts bubbling, add the chicken back in. Let the chicken simmer, stirring frequently until the sauce thickens, and the chicken is well coated. Serve with rice ..and broccoli if you’d like.

I used the 10” skillet to saute the broccoli that I made. I also cooked the rice in the 1.5 quart sauce pan.

How to cook Miso Glazed Chicken

  1. Dice the chicken breast into bite sized pieces. Heat the olive oil in a sauté pan over medium/high heat. Place the chicken in the pan and cook for about 2- 3 minutes on each side. It’s important NOT to cook the chicken all the way through. While the chicken is cooking, mix the remaining ingredients together to make the glaze.
  2. Once the chicken is browned, remove it from the pan. Add the glaze mixture into the pan. Once it starts bubbling, add the chicken back into the pan. Let the chicken simmer, stirring occasionally until the glaze thickens and the chicken is coated. Serve immediately.
